Daija G. Thorns didn't stumble into lighting design — she chose it. From her earliest days in theatre, designing for plays, musicals, dance productions, jazz performances, and orchestras, she knew that light was her language. Over the past 11 years, that language has grown into a full creative and technical practice that spans concerts, corporate events, award ceremonies, photoshoots, fashion, and live performance.

Based in Las Vegas and driven by faith, creativity, and an engineer's precision, Daija founded Lab 134 Productions to build something the industry doesn't have enough of — a designer who is equally at home in the creative conversation and the technical one. She doesn't just design off “pretty”. She designs off purpose, practicality, and an understanding of how light and texture actually behaves in a space.

Her journey has taken her from small theatre stages to Las Vegas residency’s including Los Bukis, Carrie Underwood, Adele, Usher, Luke Bryan and touring alongside world-class productions including the Jonas Brothers: The Tour and A.R. Rahman: Wonderment Tour — experiences that gave her an inside look at what it takes to build shows at the highest level. Back in Las Vegas, she spent three years as the resident lighting programmer at a full-service event space, producing everything from corporate galas and comedy shows to concerts and brand activations. That range isn't accidental — it's intentional.

Daija's goal with every project is the same: make the client confident they're in the right hands from the first conversation to the final cue. Whether she's drafting a lighting plot in Vectorworks, building a pre-visualization in Capture, or programming a show on GrandMA — the work is always grounded in one belief: that great lighting doesn't just illuminate a room. It transforms it.
